Recently on Facebook, I saw an advertisement that recommended a book series to fans of Twilight. So…of course I had to read them !
“A Shade of Vampire” by Bella Forrest, is similar to twilight in that there are vampires yes(but they don’t glitter…which kinda makes me sad, I kinda adored the glittering… such a random why to include glitter), there are to many love triangles and of course over the top (but just so cute) love writing.
“No. In my eyes, she was most beautiful because at a time when she had every right to be terrified, she managed to show comfort to another person who needed it.”
One thing, that I really enjoy about Forrest’s writing, is each chapter is written in the perspective of a different character. It reminders me of the early writings of Elizabeth Chandler (which if you haven’t, you must read “Kissed by an Angel” it’s adorable).
I have a soft spot for love stories, and this book definitely fits that description (just toss in a vampire).
On the evening of Sofia Claremont’s seventeenth birthday, she is sucked into a nightmare from which she cannot wake.
A quiet evening walk along a beach brings her face to face with a dangerous pale creature that craves much more than her blood.
She is kidnapped to an island where the sun is eternally forbidden to shine.
An island uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet. She wakes here as a slave, a captive in chains.Sofia’s life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn when she is the one selected out of hundreds of girls to join the harem of Derek Novak, the dark royal Prince.
Despite his addiction to power and obsessive thirst for her blood, Sofia soon realizes that the safest place on the island is within his quarters, and she must do all within her power to win him over if she is to survive even one more night.
Will she succeed? …or is she destined to the same fate that all other girls have met at the hands of the Novaks?
It’s a exciting, and fun read! Needless to say, I am fully invested in this story, it’s dramatic however not to over the top for causal reading. I must worn future readers however it’s definitely a “love-at-first-sight” novel. But don’t let that faze you, it’s a cute story, and defiantly a fun read.
What are you reading right now?
