As a few of you know… I have an obsession with Milani cosmetics. I adore their pretty packing and formulas (plus their affordable pricing) So I always pick up their newest launches. (Not obsessive or anything … haha #MakeupJunkie)
Recently I took a track to CVS just to look (ya-right) && I happened to find myself in front of the Milani counter. That’s where I spotted their new “Fierce Foil Eyeshine” quads ($10). I picked up the shade pack of “01 MILANChic Nudes & Neutrals.”
According to Milani these foiled little gems of yum are described as:
This isn’t a shadow, it’s a shine. This extraordinary eye-enhancing, game-changing gloss can be swept on bare lids. Just tap the applicator onto the color and glide over the eye, starting close to the lashline. From there, simply blend and build with the applicator or your fingertip. In fact, it’s so easy to get glowing with this gloss, your hardest task will be picking a palette. Available in four shade quartettes named for Italy’s starriest, most beloved cities, the lineup includes Milan (soft pinks and taupes), Rome (a pack of rich lavenders and purples), Florence (think copper, bronze, gold) and Venice (icy white and cool blues). Sexy and glamorous, but an effortless addition to your makeup routine, Fierce Foil Eyeshine is runway inspired, “real way” designed.
Playing with these, I did have a hard time getting a significant pay off with a brush application (unless paired with MAC’s Fix-Plus) however these do apply every cleanly with your fore finger. I did find that these where a little tough to get them really pigmented and blended out..however I am fond of color selections.
In this quad, I really adored the golden brown and rosy creme (Top left, & bottom right). They go very well with one another and the pay off of the golden brown is lovely! The lighter shade in the quad, didn’t remind me so much of a foiled shadowed, more like a glittery infused highlighter. (That being said I do like popping this under my brow bone or my inner corner). The darkest shade I use the lest, however it does add a nice depth to any look.
Over all I really liked this little find. I think these a perfect if you just want a subtle hint of shine in your look. However, if you really need to scratch your glittery obsession, I would suggest springing for some Kat Von D glitter shadows (those have more payoff and are easier to work with).
Should I review more of the Milani range? Leave your suggestions in the comments!
xoxo (gossip girl…haha just kidding…I just couldn’t help it)
