“Our True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation is our first liquid foundation in a cushion that provides a fresh, luminous look in just one tap. Using the puff applicator, tap makeup onto skin and layer for perfectly customizable coverage.” L’Oreal

I adore the concept of Cushion Foundations. They are the ideal way to make liquid foundations portable. Thus, I couldn’t wait to hop on this foundation trend.

I wanted to try a more affordable cushion foundation first. However to my surprise, even the L’Oreal Cushion Foundation is $15 (pretty pricy for a drug store foundation!).

However! Thats where the complaints stop. (Spoiler Alert!)

Here are some stats:

  • This is a light weight dewy foundation
  • With light to medium coverage
  • Promoted as the Luminous Foundation for a healthy glow

Recently, my skin has not been liking heavy foundations. (Why skin, why?!) So I have been in need of a new (gentler) foundation.

Cushion foundations, are ideal for someone who needs lighter coverage. Since they are build able and you can place the foundation exactly where you want it with the sponge applicator (if thats your beauty weapon of choice).

The foundation comes in a rose gold plastic compact, (good job L’Oreal on the compact cuteness) complete with a very sizable mirror. The sponge applicator sits above the foundation, and has a small handle on it for easy use.

(Beware- if you choose to use the sponge applicator, this foundation tends to get messy…see above catastrophe)

To use foundation you pat sponge (brush, or beauty blender) against the cushion to pick up product.

I have herd concern over this method, due to the foundation not being a hygienic. That being said, if you are worried about the cleanliness of your cushion, use a beauty blender or a washable applicator to apply your foundation.

Over all, I really enjoy this foundation. If you are oily however I highly recommend powdering after you apply it. Since this is a lighter foundation with “luminosity” built right in, it has a tendency to be overly shinny and breaks up with oil.

(If you have a tendency to be oily, go over foundation with Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Translucent 0.33 oz. (This stuff was made by god, I swear))

I haven’t had any issues with reapplying the foundation through out the day, this is a very build able foundation.

Defiantly give thesis foundation a try if your looking for something new! (You won’t regret it)

Have you tried a foundation that you have fallen in love with recently? Leave it in the comments below, and let me know if I should give it a go!
