Hello Ladies && Gents,
Since September is in full swing, that means that it my pleasure to announce a new monthly blog theme!
The “Ipsy monthly Review” !
Ipsy, is a monthly subscription to a company called “Ipsy: Beauty by You”, this company will send you 5 samples of various products (depending on what you like, what they think you should try && brand new just launched makeup) for $10 a month. Now i love monthly subscriptions, however sometimes I just don’t want to pay the money to dig through countless items for those rare and must have gems. So! I decided to break down each month what Ipsy sends me, and then y’all can decide from there if there is anything you want to try or just want to hear what the latest products are. See this will be fun!
Now then ! Onward to the first ever “Ipsy Review” ! (Insert supper excited face) lol
Now these products were sent to me, in the second week of August, however I wanted to make sure I took the time to review and try all of them, especially since the fastest way to try anything is place it into your daily makeup bag lol.
Now when the package arrived it was a small pink package (which i must say was adorable), when opening it there was a small plastic cosmetic bag and five samples. The samples && there reviews are as follows! =)
#1 The Urban Decay Prevision Mascara ($22 retail)
Now when I say this little gem in my glam bag, I of course had a little freak out moment lol. I thus had to venture onto the internet to see what everyone was saying about this newly launched mascara. According to the description from Ulta.com the mascara is…
So intense you might need a safe word, Perversion glides on and gets you sexy in one stroke. (Yet it won’t quit until you say when.)
Like a second skin, Urban Decay’s ultra-creamy, lengthening, volumizing formula coats each lash with triple-black pigments and a deeply nourishing ingredient blend – for bigger, blacker, badder lashes. It’s sick how black it is…the purest, deepest, most intense black color imaginable.
Reading that, I was thinking hells-to-the-ya! Thus this was the first product I tried…&& despite the over whelming positive out cry from the digital world, I have to say I didm’t like this mascara. For me this mascara was very very very wet, and it took ages to dry. Causing the formula to clump, sag and smudge like there was no tomorrow. So on the few occasions that I did try this mascara out, I had to clean, smudge and fix all around my eye! Talk about irritating. One of my largest pet peeves is a slow dry time. Lets face it ladies & gents we live busy lives and standing in the bathroom waiting for 10 minutes for your lashes to dry is often to much time! So for me this product was a show stopper….(which makes me sad cause hello! its urban decay, one of my favorite dirty secrets). Oh well! there is always next time!
#2 Dr. Brandit Pores No More Pore Refiner ($45 retail)
This product has been raved on Ulta. com as an…
is an instant mattifying pore refiner for Oil/Combination skin types or anyone concerned with visible pores. It immediately minimizes the appearance of pores by diffusing light. Absorbs oil, reduces shine and helps regulate oil production.
Now, some of you may now that I have skin issues up the wazz-u ! Bad acne, oily to dry skin, and irritation. So when this little bit of product came in my bag I was curious…could this product be a god send? Will my skin become lovely && glossy like a magazine cover?! (As you can tell I was overly excited about trying this particular product lol)
Well after trying it for 2 weeks straight…I have to say that Ulta.com once again raised my hopes way to high…Instead of “absorbing oil, reducing sine and helping regulate oil production” the product had the exact opposite effect on me. My skin became more oily, broke out and became very red on my noise. I have to say I am actually excited about running out of this product..it didn’t live up to my hopes and dreams. Sigh. So much for that one! lol
#3 J. Cat Beauty Flying Solo Eye Shadow in Half Naked ($2.99 retail)
“Hmm J. Cat?” That was my exact though when I pulled out this full sized shadow…&& I have to say that I am not the biggest person to get excited over unknown name brands. However after a little research this is what I dug up (on the creators website)…
This very spunky & fun makeup mantra is what made me think…hmm okay ill give this a serious try. Now I have to say that I used this product only three times…however if your in the market for affordable very pigmented makeup…you MUST give this a try.
I Loved the Sin out of this Little Shadow pot!!
The shadow was pigmented like crazy and did crease! I have to say that I will defiantly be ordering more of J. Cat’s products in the future!
#4 Mongongo Lip Conditioner by Jersey Shore sun
Now, I love me a good lip conditioner! Since I live in the South West, my poor skin is consistently fighting for moister, so i was supper pumped to try this little guy out. However, mush to my dismay I discovered (after) placing it on my lips that I’m actually allergic to this product…So! Since I can’t give y’all a nice and fair review, I have the description for you bellow…now if you try it, leave in the comments what you thought of the product! I will be really interested to know =)

#5 Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk ($19.75 retail, Full Size)
A dry shampoo…hmm…this could be either awesome or horrible. I think dry shampoo is the most essential thing a women can own in her hair arsenal, however, trying to find the perfect dry shampoo for you can be a pain in the arse. So going into trying this product I have to say I was expecting a goat milk smell && a grayish tint…. However when looking into this product I discovered that it was given a Allure 2011 Best of Beauty award…(hmm interest peaking): The description for the product went as follows…
-
Adds volume and texture to hair
-
Extends the life of blow-outs and hair color
-
Ideal for people on-the-go, frequent travelers, after the gym, busy moms and office desk
-
Sulfate, paraben and sodium chloride free
Hmmm…okay Allure lets see of you know your stuff…(insert two weeks of time) && TA-DA !! I’m in love…I have already destroyed my small travel size….&& have since order, and awaiting a new full sized bottle lol.
This little dry shampoo is a god send! It doesn’t have a horrible smell…it simply smells clean && there isn’t a isn tone of gross white/grey/what-the-ish-is-in-my-hair residue.
Over all this product saved me on my week long adventure in Colorado! Love Love Love Love. If ya’ll try any of the products from my August Ipsy bag defiantly give this one a try! I have to say Allure was right, this flipping product deserves a award! I herby dub this product the (drum roll please…)
BEST PRODUCT OF IPSY’s AUGUST GLAM BAG
Alrightly, my lovely and amazing readers, thats all for today ! However don’t forget to check out my Colorado Blog post && my Monthly Favorite’s video on Youtube!
Kisses
I really like the Mongongo lip conditioner, although I wish the scent didn’t last as long as it did. (Isn’t it strange to NOT want longevity in your beauty products??) But I don’t like the lemony scent ALL day long. Otherwise, it feels lovely on the lips.
I’m happy to here that the Mongongo lip conditioner was an awesome lip conditioner…however I think the fragrance would put me off to! I like when I can forget that I’m wearing something, makes me feel more confident 🙂 && thank you so much for the comment! I love to hear what other people think about products. ❤
Pour no more is my favorite and for 10.00 a month I love it…the bags can be used for so many cool things, I love all the colors. Bless you for following my blog ~Jackie
